Answer:- Nora was a five year old girl. The teacher was visiting her family over a weekend. She would come to the teacher with a book in her hand and he would help her read it. Soon she became a friend of the teacher.

Answer:-The teacher would just sat still and silent most of the time.Only rarely, when she seemed badly stuck he said anything.Even then he didn't tell her the word, only suggested how she might figure it out.If she still couldn't get the word, he told her to skip it and go ahead.

Answer:-The odd thing happened with nora was that she would misread a word that previously she had read correctly.This happened a number of times.Due to this the teacher was feeling puzzled.

Answer:- Nora was not at all a careless child.The teacher himself had said she read the book with full concentration.she wasn't bluffing' or guessing' or trying to get the teacher to do the work for her.

Answer:-To understand the problems of the children, a teacher must try to see things as if through their eyes.An adult think it should be easy for someone to remember what a word looks like from one page to the next as he knows the word.But for children it is not easy since they have seen the word for the first time.So a teacher should give them plenty of time to learn and not be surprised or upset looks like slowness,or stupid mistakes              

Question No 06:-What experience popped into the teacher's mind after Nora's learning problem?

Answer:-One day the teacher took a sheet of printing in some indian language.He tried to find the word that occur most often on the page.At first the page looked to him but a jumble of strange shapes.It took him long time before he could recognize some short common word.He would go right by it without noticing it.

Question No 07:- Why are children of unlettered homes at a disadvantage? 

Children of unlettered homes are at a disadvantage because they lack familiarity with the shapes of words and letters.

Question No 08:- How did the teacher learn from Nora?

Answer:- The teacher learn from Nora that a teacher should not get annoyed with a child if he or she could not understand anything.He should give a planety of time to learn and understand.
